Go at Your Own Pace
You don’t need a guide in hand to get outside here. Walk the General Daniel Sullivan Nature Trail right in town, watch the sun drop over the Wabash from Merom Bluff Park, or wander among the mounds at Waapaahsiki Siipiiwi Mound Historical Park near Fairbanks, a Late Woodland site dating back to A.D. 500. The Tourism Commission office on Main Street has maps and guides for all three.
