SMALL-TOWN FESTIVALS

A festival for every season.

The festivals are worth planning a trip around: the Corn Festival’s four September days on the downtown Sullivan square; Dugger’s Coal Festival each fall; four three-day weekends at the county lake between Memorial Day and Halloween; and a Victorian Christmas to finish the year.

Trip Planning

One stop leads to another.

A good day here is two or three of these in a row: water in the morning, a town square after lunch, supper wherever the evening finds you. When something catches your eye, start with it and build the day around it.
